Ways to isolate or remove the bloodborne pathogens hazard from the workplace

• Custodians will clean blood and body fluids according to District procedures. 
• Leak-proof red plastic bags must be used for double bagging blood or infectious waste that is liquid or semi-liquid.
• The custodians will inspect and clean all garbage receptacles that are likely to become contaminated with bloody waste on a regular basis and as needed.
• Use sharps container for disposal of needles, blades and lancets.
• Disposable gloves are available from your School Nurse or your Supervisor.
• Employees are trained in bloodborne pathogen safety so they can safely give first aid.
